Default Constant Battery Drain

What could be causing the battery to be draining all the time? If my truck sits for more than 4 days, the battery is dead. The battery is about a year old. I've had the battery tested and it's good. Any ideas?

Corrosion on battery will cause surface discharge and slowly drain your battery. You most likely you have a load on a circuit causing the battery to drain (pulling power constantly). Test the battery voltage ,Unplug the main fuses one at a time. When you pull a fuse and the voltage stops dropping it is in that circuit. I would start by checking aftermarket electrical wiring- accessories and alarm.

Check your alternable cables for corrosion too. Have your charging system checked. This beast has an inherent residual drain on batteries. That's why I installed a Battery Tender Solar panel on the roof. I was having the same issues and haven't since I installed the solar panel. It's just a solar trickle charger. Hope that helps!

I was having this issue as well. Make sure when you turn the key back to remove it you have it turned all the way back. My key can be removed with a 1/16th left in the rotation. If i dont turn it all the way back the battery light will stay on and drain the battery. I bought the new electrical part of the ignition switch but haven't installed it yet. I think it was around $57 from the dealer.

Aftermarket stereos and alarms have also been identified as battery killers, depending on who or which shop did the installation.
