Here's another one you can't do without, if you plan on doing a transfer case rebuild. The rebuild is super easy and the parts are very affordable. But you definitely need a large set of staffing pliers that ratchet and hold the snap ring open...... You'll never fight with the snap rings again!

And one you would not have thought of, a heat gun like pictured below. Harbor freight has them. If you ever pull your transmission, it is a basic necessity. That big harness plug on the driver side of the transmission will not unplug until you've heated it up sufficiently. If you try without a heat gun, you will most likely damage that plug.

And are you still using the old style hose clamps from back when you were working on cars in high school? The ones you have to keep tightening? Time to move up to something a little more professional looking that won't loosen up, Oetiker style clamps for that OEM look.

This is a good starter set for under $30 on Amazon. Good stocking stuffer 😁 Clamps are available in all sizes....

They're right here on Amazon

I guess I'm on a roll today. I can't believe the number of people that don't have a quarter drive inch pound torque wrench. Absolutely necessary, particularly on the oil cooler block attachment to the oil pan. Too tight or too loose and it will leak. Guessing simply doesn't work.

And are you really torquing your lug nuts down to 140 ft lb?
This one's useful on the lug nuts, axle nuts, and the differential and transfer case yoke nuts.

Note: This is a 3/4 drive, which I have a socket set for. But I frequently use a 3/4-in to half inch reducer and use half drive impact sockets.

Oh yeah, this isn't a teenage girls blow dryer for sure! Surprised it doesn't come with four warning labels 😲

Yeah Mine did. It's a Master Heat Gun. Like I said I use it in my electronic shop. There is an intake that has a rotating vain that limits air which if you want makes it hotter...

Yeeeooooooooooooooow!!

For starters, after completely going through my Hummer mechanically, I can say there's one tool that got more use than anything else. Not really unique, I just happened to see it in the tray at O'Reilly Auto parts for $5.99. it's been a lifesaver on hard to reach 7, 8 and 10 mm bolt heads! (Perfect fit for the two bolts that hold the oil cooler block on!) The brand is Titan, never heard of it before, but a swivel Head quarter drive short ratchet came in useful absolutely everywhere it seemed.

1st chance to use it. Replaced a garbage disposal. Very handy little ratchet. Truly appreciate the "heads up" notice.
