Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Thank you so much for your answer. Is it magnetic?

I'm asking because I'm comparing the chrome one vs the black one.

I'm also asking if magnetic or not to compare how strong it is compared to the black one. Because the black step bar is magnetic and is strong.

Yes, magnetic steel. Black steel or chrome steel are both magnetic, and do not tell you anything about the steel thickness. You can just use a caliper on the open ends to measure the thickness. That should be your question? Both will corrode, black you can touch up. Peeling chrome you can not. Less maintenance with the black powdercoat.

I can not remember if the black OEM were made of heavier gauge steel than the chromed OEM versions. I think my chromed ones were made of thinner stock than the rock rails, on our old 2006 (long gone), if that helps.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer me. May I know the thickness of the chrome one, please?

About the rock rails, I believe they usually come thicker than the step bars.

Maybe someone who is selling a set or has a set on their vehicle can answer that question for you.
