Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

so let me explain it to you, I was driving my truck and the CEL came on, I was pissed (bad day at work lol) so I just punched my instrument cluster, the CEL went off!!!!
On the next day the CEL came on and I did it again, lightly this time, and it went off again!
it definitely has to be a wire, bad connection with something, I don’t know what can it be, if you guys can throw some ideas would be very much appreciated!!!! Thank you
In a way it's good news, however intermittent faults can be difficult to track down, best to go at it gently. I say this because changing/moving too many things at once clouds the problem.

Some possibilities:-
  1. Cluster PCB loose connection/ dry joint.
  2. Cluster connector, loose wire, pin, cable. Corroded pin or contact.
  3. Check ground G203 Right Kick Panel
  4. Check the IGN E Fuse 11 and IPC/DIC Fuse 19 (Underhood)
  5. Check Cluster Connector particularly A6 (Serial Data) A12 (Black Ground) B9 (Pink Ignition) B11 (Orange Batt+)
It may be worth unmounting the cluster and leaving it in place. If the fault comes back, gently remove the cluster and gently waggle the connector and cables, if the fault goes it points to the connector or cables, possibly a dry joint on the cluster connector pads.

If the fault remains, try gently tapping the cluster, if it goes it suggests a dry joint on the cluster PCB.

Hi Phil,
If it works out to be a bad cluster let me know, I have a spare (it has about 72k on it) that might work out for you. I bought it for my 06 when I had a similar problem that worked out to be a loose connection as well and I never ended up using it.
