Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Attached is the manual for the XK01-AMDL which I believe is the installation for that module (I assume XK01= Xpresskit but they still seem to sell it see here) Installation "A" and Mode 4 I think is the configuration for an '04 Hummer.

This is the Pin assignment Pins 1 to 10 with pin 1 on the left in your picture.

It's hard following colors in your picture but before getting into the wiring, you could 1st prove that XK01 is powered from the Cigar Lighter, without the "CIG LTR" fuse in, is the unit OFF?

If so, then it may be possible to unplug it as the truck seems to run fine without it.

To 100% prove the point, again without the fuse, the battery disconnected and with XK01 unplugged, measure between XK01-Pin2 (RED 12V) and the Cigar Lighter.

If it connects there, then XK01 is most likely the cause of the fuse blowing or something connected to it.

You may also wish to consider disconnecting/removing the old OnStar unit, the analogue service has be discontinued and the unit can be the cause of battery drain, plus you win a compartment (not sure where you get them from though)

The other wiring we can get back to later if necessary.

Where those are my guess is for door lock/unlock signals.

Guys can someone explain me how to replace the rear side markers? I just replaced the front ones but when I got to the back is like I can’t reach the connector!

Running the risk of upsetting the purists who like to keep things stock, I'd fit some in-line IP rated connectors which can be done just by unscrewing the markers.

Mine H2, being a factory import from Canada, actually came like that even though the UK agent did a crap job so proper IP connectors are on my to-do list.

I want to keep it stock but my markers are busted though and I don’t want to remove the trim just to get to it!
so basically I get the connectors and will attach to the ones that are on my old markers correct?

What I've found is this:-

The left is the same, I think this is the harness connector which is what you'll need to fit to the wires cut-off from the lamps, also polarity is important as the lamps are diodes.

It looks like you'll need mating part to the above, i.e. Male Housing 1216200 but remember these connectors usually come in separate parts i.e. pins, shells, locks, seals etc so when ordering make sure you get the kit

If my info is correct, these parts on eBay might be the one's need, you get genuine Delphi parts both male and female so your covered.

I've just ordered a 2-off from eBay.

BTW your truck will still be stock as you're only modifying the Marker wires, not the main harness.

You'll need a crimping tool and be carefully when pushing the pins in, they are not designed to come out, ever!

Also the seals go on wires first.

If you solder the pins and it spills out around the pin, making it fatter, it probably won't fit.

Alternatively, you can buy pigtail versions i.e. with wires your can solder on to or splice such as these from RA
or these which I also found on-line.

Please note this is only what I estimate, I could be wrong so please check..

Note the XK01 module has the "AMDL" box filled suggesting that its an XK01-AMDL module (probably just the software installed)

The Blue & Green wires look as if they've been "tapped" into, these connect to two diodes (inside the heatshrink block maybe) which join together and connect to the single White wire, this in-turn connects to a Green wire which goes inside the electrical-tape wrap and seems to connect to the Pink wire connected to XK01-Pin7

According to the XK01 data for Vehicle Type 4 Pin 7 refers to the "DomeLight" so I wonder if this pin detects the courtesy lights when a door/tailgate is opened?

XK01-Pin5 (Violet) is the Serial Data line and looks like it go downwards to the OBD2 connector.

All I have for the moment.
