Default H2 hummer stuck in park

I have an 2003 h2 hummer and key wont turn or shift out of park I removed shifter console and was a broken yellow wire i spliced the remaining yellow wire and tried to put in back on connector by shifter and the ignition clicked a few times then nothing.i am at a loss on what to try next.remote start works but key doesn't turn on.as soon as I hit the brake shuts off.is the yellow wire on that connector that broke terminal c the key lock?what else can I do to try and get this fixed from home since it won't turn or shift.i pushed that button under shifter to put in neutral but still couldn't turn key at all.

i had the same issue on my 2003 i was able to pull the pin out of the connector and solder it back onto the harness then reinstall it into the connector.
the picture above is how i had found mine. the end of the cable had pulled out. i depinned it, the pin connector and soldered it back. i had to unravel the tape so that the yellow wire in the loom got a bit more slack out of it.

Just replace the entire cable/connector assembly (see the link above) this is a common problem and it will just break again if you piece part it and try to fix the original connector/wiring.
