Nope, I thought that too, but it's definitely not leaking from the end of the clamped rubber fill hose; it's leaking at the base of the filler neck integral to the fuel tank.

Do you get a P0442 or P0455?

Interesting question.
The 05 tanks are seriously well made, can't imagine what would necessitate changing one other than damage. Also the complex array of evap pipes etc would seems to negate using anything other than the correct fuel tank, and would introduce too many unknowns, think the FPM is different too.

Default Our side the the fuel tank filter

understanding is only 2003 models have an externally accessible fuel filter. All later models just have a screen as part of the fuel pump itself.
oust

Where is the filter located on the 2003 Hummer H2 outside the tank?

Yes, outside of the tank, right at the front of the tank. You can get to it from underneath fairly easily. I replaced mine and it only took 5 minutes.

Savage, thanks for sharing and posting those great pictures, with all the other feedback others have responded with this should make the job a bit more reasonable to do!

A side note, not surprised GM cheaped out and saved $1 not putting in an external fuel filters on the later models...

After 2003, no more lead in the fuel. Therefore no need for an external filter. TOP TIER™ Detergent Gasoline was first introduced in 2004 when a group of automakers recognized the need for a higher detergency gasoline standard than that required by regulation.
