My understanding is only 2003 models have an externally accessible fuel filter. All later models just have a screen as part of the fuel pump itself.

I dropped mine when I installed my lower rear trailing arms, definitely a pain and do not look forward to ever doing it again lol.

Also, if dropping the tank for anything other than a dead fuel pump, run yourself nearly out of gas first. Gas is heavy. lol

On my 08, #7 in your picture above developed a small leak. Only noticeable when the tank was filled up. Luckily I was able to reach up there and use a mirror to put some sealant around it. Haven't had a problem since. Thanks for sharing this.

No problem. I searched all over the internet for some sort of reference to fuel tanks on Hummer H2's with clear pics. I had no luck. Always willing to help.

Yea. That's a vent connector. There's actually 2 of them. #2 and #7. The #7 is more difficult to get to than #2.

Yup! The fuel pump on mine decided to quit when I had just over half a tank. I had to syphon 16 gallons of fuel out before dropping it. Still had about 3 gallons in the tank when I pulled it out. Light enough to minipulate.

I'm right with you on that!
