Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Engine is out and HP parts ordered, what headers

Well finally got the pistons back in the block, huge hurdle, next is to plasti-gauge the new rod bearings and polished crank to make sure all is good there.
things should start moving a little faster now

Plasti-gauge ready for cap install

Degree gauge set and ready for 85*

Rod bolt rotated to 85*

Caps removed and clearance checked, .0016" well within spec.

Everything checked good and the caps are all TTY, moving to getting oil pump installed and front and rear covers set.

Plastic visibly looks right on to me. Nice work. Keep some good assembly lube on everything and keep getting it all back together! I'm sure you are since you are this in depth but make sure to use the proper tightening sequences and torque specs. So easy to miss inch lbs vs ft lbs or nm... Wish docs were always a bit more consistent about those things but easy enough to calculate one into the other with all the online calculators. If you need any from the GM eSi system docs post up and I'll pull the page and upload it.

MixManSC really appreciate the offer and help, I'll take you up on the GM material if needed, I have a subscription to AllDataDIY but as indicated in some of my posts there is incorrect info in their system on the L92. I also use the ACDelco site with a 3 day subscription to the GM material when I see something that don't look correct to me. Both sites have a detailed overhaul section including disassembly, inspection and installation which I've been following for the most part so I don't miss anything and have to disassemble unnecessarily.

Last night I got the oil pump, crank shield and pump pickup mounted so next will be the front and rear covers,

things are starting to move now,

make sure that the oil pickup o-ring is properly installed because it is a bitch to find out it got damaged after the engine is installed to find out the oil pressure only builds when revving past 1k barely any at 500. its not like you can just drop the oil pan as easily as you can right now

it is a very common issue on the LS platform. i think there is also a TSB on it. the O-rings go square and become brittle with time or get nicked during install.

Yep, I had already replaced the pickup O-ring as part of a cam actuator replacement, pulled the front axle and the pan months back along with replacing the oil pump pickup.

But since I had them with the new gasket sets I changed everything again this go round.
