Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Engine is out and HP parts ordered, what headers

more progress;

It looks like I will be able to heat and bend the hanger down to the tip of the turn down and then it will line up with the factory hanger.

Pass side header from bottom with X*pipe

looking from drivers side where it turns down and goes under the trans.

Pass side looking from the top

Drivers side looking from the top

I'm impressed with the fit and finish of these headers, X-pipe and mufflers, I still need to fit the cats so some changes to the Y-pipe will be needed.

Yep, haven't seen any posts from you in a while on your project,

Started working on the Y-pipe and CAT's;

One of the things I wanted was to have CAT's with the headers and true duals, I knew I would have to sacrifice a little on the drivers side due to space but I'm ok with the way it came out. Speed Engineering sends extra pipe fittings with the Y-pipe kit for the different trans and truck configurations so I was able to use what they sent to make this work.

This is the offset for the drivers side to get the CAT in there. I left enough room between the pipe and cross-member to be able to remove the Y-pipe

This shows the drop on the 3" pipe under the trans. Will have to mod the skid guard to clear the pipe.

I have around 1/2" to 3/4" clearance under the trans pan.

This is the CAT installed and clamped in place.

I still need to pull it out and weld it out, the pass side will be no issue at all, the CAT will slide in place and clamp easily after cutting a small section of pipe out.

mufflers mounted, got one more mount to get right and will be done.

driver side CAT done

Passenger side CAT done

Had to add 2 O2 bungs after the CAT's and got all the O2 sensors mounted and wired in.

Next install the intake, change the trans fluid, prime the engine and crank it up

Easy to say but it always takes longer then expected,

Got the intake in and coil packs all mounted and wired up,

With the size CAT's I have i ended up welding the drivers side in at the outlet only as there just was not enough room for a slip fit mount, maybe if I had smaller CAT's I could have done it. So I've had to change my plans to have both the headers and Y-pipe ceramic coated, now I'll have the pass side and headers coated and have to wrap the small section of pipe on the drivers.

I dropped the trans pan and changed the filter and removed the old fluid (was fairly dark) and have order Amsoil full synthetic to replace it.

Still have to torque the trans bolts, install the belts and radiator fans, should have that all done today.

Once I have the trans fluid I'll prime the engine with engine oil, fill the trans and prep for first crank, GPI said it may start but will likely not want to stay running without some adjustments.

Thanks for the update. It's a shame that exhaust is on the bottom-something that pretty should be seen.
Are you going to tune yourself or is GPI doing it? just fyi: I just installed a TSP VVT-1 (216/229 .600). It need some tune work prior to starting-mostly more air.
Keep the updates coming.

I'll let GPI do the tuning and then I'll fine tune it if needed, they said it would be very close when they got finished with it.

What did you install the VVT-1 in?

Got the Y-pipe and the X-pipe wrapped today also added a little to the CAT's

Been raining all day and with my lift being outside things moved a little slow today, tomorrow will be clear and the trans fluid should be delivered so hopefully I can get a little more done
