Driving H2 into remote places ( spare parts lost )
The 6L80E is a great transmission....but more complex, more to get wrong when rebuilding, and not as "user friendly" for rebuilding by a diy'r.
The continuing quest to build a better mouse trap has resulted in overly complex components that often end up less reliable, and costly to repair. Which is an issue for the subject of this thread.... Going to remote places.
There's a big advantage to the 4L65E over the 6L80E. Money, and ease of a rebuild and upgrade on the workbench by anyone with moderate mechanical skills. Very similar to a 700R4. For less than the cost of a 6L80E, it can be upgraded with performance parts to handle much more torque than a stock 6L80E.

40 dollar kit is available on eBay and Amazon,
one of my H1s is manual shifting 4L80e
super fun
Hes talking about a 6L80.. from the end of the GMT900 era IIRC?
6SPD DCT style thing
Thats the higher hanging fruit I suggested
The *4* L80 is the most common solution to all 4l6xx transmission woahs across ALL platforms
You see the 4l80 almost as often as the T400 in drag racing applications these days
It is universally beloved
Keep arguing with me, JFC

Or you can attach three home light switches to your dash with self tappers...

it can be rebuilt in a couple hours,
the labor to take it off is more than the rebuilt time.
Or maybe you can call a helivac to take it to AAMCO for you 🤣
Exactly. And while you're rebuilding it you can install the better parts and make it more durable than any of the OEM options. At a fraction of the cost. When going into remote areas, keep in it simple means keeping it reliable. And the 4l65e is quite simple compared to the newer transmissions.
Its gotta be a GM thing. The dumbest people get together and bully the smart people until they leave and buy a Ford...
The mullet trope is literally self enforcing
Like its a rule
"No thinkin roun here, we stay stuck on stupid"
Literally the LS is popular because they thought that was revolutionary compared to the SBC when the rest of the world was on the 4v motors and variable cams by then
As if being ignorant is a source of pride or something?
Now what does the Bible tell y'all about pride???

Its not newer
its the same era transmission
and any money you spend upgrading the 4l65 can be spent upgrading the 4l80 and it will be even better
are you all addicted to stupid pills?
*what im saying here is common knowledge*
