Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Driving H2 into remote places ( spare parts list )

Hey guys I just bought an H2
i am long time H1 owner since 2002.

i have been working and playing with H1 and humvee platform for over 25 years,

this is my first H2,
I’ll be using the Hummer primarily for remote location exploration with government geologists,

Can you guys point me to the weak points of the h2 so I can either take care of it now or have that parts with me when traveling in the middle of nowhere.

I appreciate your knowledge

Eric

Kryptonite steering, cv axle, and a transmission lol.

just keep up on maintenance and do regular inspections and you will be fine. Also remember plastic radiators, fittings, and hoses should all be replaced every 10 years or they will break and leave you stranded. Absolutely 100% maintenance items.

You'll get a lot of recommendations from the guys that have gone the way of trashing the stock radiators. My classic 65 Vette runs DeWitts with Dual Spal Fans ...known as one of the best for Classics. But not Shure if they make a Rad for your beast. I don't think so....but you can check. There are a lot of Mfg's out there who make aftermarket. But you should be have no problem with the H2 as many here have aftermarket Rads. I think Griffin is one that someone did a thread on here.

I found this Google page with a Bunch of Aluminum Radiator companies. Check it out.

Also ..How about some complete Under body or chassis protection form the Ducky...

https://rubberduck4x4.com/product-ca...protection-h2/

And as mentioned above make sure you get those HD front CV axles and Tie Rods. Especially the tie rods. The rubberduck chassis protection can save your tons of money if you drop down on a big azz rock. No holes in the "T" case or DIff. Also Make sure your Rock Slider Rails are in good shape and the bolts to the chassis are tight.
