Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
One of the last things to do on my 2003 H2 was to address the left front being 1/2 inch lower than the right front. Underneath I noticed the driver side torsion bar adjustment was out quite a bit further in the passenger side. Ended up going three full turns. And both adjustments bolts appear to be protruding the same amount now. Three full turns for that half inch because as you would adjust the driver side the right side will creep up a little. Got it dead even. Free alignment check yesterday because I had it aligned 2 months ago, the guy pointed out everything is still in spec although the camber on both sides has improved.
I think what I ran into is one of the adjustment bolts backing out over the past 21 years. I would surmise that as the suspension works and relieves torque on the torsion bar, I suppose that possibly could loosen it up over the years. It did turn quite easily, but I don't have any rust issues either. Alignment shop said that's not included on a normal four-wheel alignment.... Unless a customer asks. That is worth noting.
I adjusted my torsion bars when i replaced the lower arms. Had the suspension perfectly settled, full tank of gas, and a 2 months later, the driver side sits half an inch lower. Its really frustrating.
