Figured I would give everyone update on my situation. I just got off the phone with GM. This was my 3rd call in 3 weeks. The past two times I was told they will call me between certain hours on Monday. No one ever called me back. This was the 3rd time they said they don’t know of any issue with the head. I was told my 12 month 12,000 warranty kicked in when I had the head replaced but it was voided because I have such low miles. I have a 4 year 50,000 bumper to bumper warranty. So if need service at 49,000 miles, say on my head or transmission, I lose my 12/12,000 warranty. That part will only be covered under the remaining warranty. So that part would only be covered for 1,000 miles. Actually GM is taking away warranty not handing them out. I was offered a $250 gift certificate for maintenance. That is the conclusion of my 3rd call. Everyone Take Care. Have a good day!
What was the name/number of the person you talked to?

I also wanted to mention that I do not believe anyone has received an extended warranty. If someone has been told they will get an extended warranty, I believe it is a lie. It would be illegal for GM to give a group of people a warranty and draw the line and stop giving them out.

Head, are you stating that I am lying?? I have a letter in my hands from GM extending my warranty! However, I have also been told in my last phone conversation that it is being canceled. Now had I been told from the get go that I was not getting an extended warranty - I might not have much of a complaint. But, I have been told onseveral different occasions that I was getting an extended warranty (of course promises were different in several phonecalls of what I would be getting) and that a letter would be in the mail to me.

No No not at all sorry. I'm saying GM is lying. There is the possibility some people could be lying about getting a warranty. If anything, there are people who got a warranty extended and would say they didn't to hush hush it or cover it up. Im not saying you would do any of this. You have been extremely helpfull. I have read everything you posted andI called the GM number you posted. Thanks for your help LaWwyfe!good job have a good valentines day! could you post the letter for us?

Oh OK Head, I can see where I misinterpreted that post...no worries.I just totally lose my head over this issue I guess. The good news is that when/if they finally decide to tell me that I get nothing...I will have that initial letter that they sent me (the only reason it was in question is because it was not at all what was promised to me in conversation.)You have a lovely VD as well!

Ok now I'm confused. You have a letter from GM extending your warranty, but you have been told over the phone that it is being cancelled? What was the reason they gave you for canceling the extended warranty? I would have somebody's head on a plate!

I'm not trying to make waves, but read this:

General Motors Corp. said Friday it will extend its five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty to used cars going back to the 2002 model year, another move to convince customers that its cars and trucks are as reliable as those made by its Japanese rivals.
The warranties apply to all GM Certified Used Vehicles and are fully transferable. They become available March 1.

Basically all of us who bought our 2006 Hummer H3sbrand new are stuck with the current warranty, but anyone who buys a GM certified used 2006 Hummer H3 gets the new warranty. Yet another slap in our face by GM.
