Engine light came on yesterday - Onstar gave me a P0300 code - Engine misfire. Am I soon to join this battle?

Thank you RDoggy for your support and words of encouragement here. I can understand yourdismay where your vehicle is concerned if it was manufactured with the old faulty parts. If it was not, then I would hope that you should have no fears. I too put out a lot of cash money for mine. Igenerally keep my cars anywhere from 4-6 years depending upon how well they run and how well I like them since we are a 2 car family. And there is no way that I will take a bath so to speak on trading mine in on an 07 (which appear to have some flaws as well) just to have a more mechanically sound H3 - giving GM MORE money out of my pocket when we all know how much a vehicle depreciates as soon as you drive it off the showroom floor.

As far as the history of the family's GM cars and their reliability - they were always traded in on new ones before the warranty was up (and most all required an amount of warranty work done on them) Therefore this was never really an issue before and we don't really know the reliability of them post warranty.

Head, and anyone else that have doubt that there really is a letter....first of all I shouldn't have to be here justifying my decisions not to post it, nor my honesty. Why exactly would I state (lie) that I do have a letter here if I indeed did not? Wouldn't that make me look rather stupid if in fact there really were no letters from GM? What exactly would it gain me? I have far better things to do with my time than post totalBS on a forum as well as the fact that I do not play games.

As for "the confidentiality reasons" it has nothing to do with my personal information. As long as my case is open and "under review"I now have to look after myself and at this point will do so until something is settled. Bear in mind that this issue has been going on for me now upwards of 4 months! I DID look after others here with the same issue in posting my initial experiences along with contact information. I did not have to do this, however I wanted to be of some help to others. GM in return was inundated with calls which has now given them cause to "modify the parameters with which they will act on this issue" to quote the rep I spoke with the other day. It is also apparent that possibly GM personnel are here reading the forums...therefore I really choose not to disclose any more information such as that letter for the time being. It is shall we say, my trump card.
