I'm not trying to make waves, but read this:

General Motors Corp. said Friday it will extend its five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty to used cars going back to the 2002 model year, another move to convince customers that its cars and trucks are as reliable as those made by its Japanese rivals.
The warranties apply to all GM Certified Used Vehicles and are fully transferable. They become available March 1.

Basically all of us who bought our 2006 Hummer H3sbrand new are stuck with the current warranty, but anyone who buys a GM certified used 2006 Hummer H3 gets the new warranty. Yet another slap in our face by GM.
Cadillac, Saab and Hummer operate separate certified preowned vehicle programs.

Ok..Ryan...if you work for GM why don't you tell us what GM is going to do about the head issue? If people have already had their head replaced are they going to get an extended warranty? What about those of us whose head may not need to be replaced after the warrant expires...is GM going to take care of us too?

OK, here is a quick summarization of my story for those of you who are confused. Yes, I do have a letter, and no I am sorry, for confidentiality reasons at the moment I will not post it (as long as my case remains up in the air.) I had thehead replacement issuein Nov. and made numerous calls and was finally told I would get a specific extended warranty. I finally rec'd the letter in Jan (after numerous more calls on my part) and it was NOT what I was told I would be getting (yes, it was an ext warr tho.) Since I am a person of principle and I was told one thing and then rec'd something else - back to the phone I went. Several calls and a couple weekslater, a rep from GM CALLED ME back and said I would be getting a very specific extended warranty which I wassatisfiedwith. She informed me that my new letter would be in the mail within a couple days. 3 weeks went by and NO letter! Once again back to the phone I went. Spoke withone of my originalreps who then informed me that my old letter was canceled and GM "had changed the parameters of this issue/ext. warr. AND that the other rep who had called me "hadNO business telling me I would get the warranty that she offered me and I would not be getting it" I was also told it was still under review...period. SO at this point, I have an old letter that is canceled and no good and my file is still under review (presumably in someone's "file 13 box") and GM has basically been blowing smoke up my hindside. Perhaps this is more clear now?

My family has a long history of new cadillac purchases and suffice it to say...Regardless of how much I love my Hummer -I don't believe we will be purchasing any more GM vehicles after this if this is the way they treat their customers.

Sarah.....I'm sorry to hear what GM is putting you through. This obviously is not a good business practice for them as they will be losing long time valued customers. This is the first GM vehicle I have ever purchased and I shouldn't have to worry and wonder if I'm going to need a head replacement or not. I also shouldn't have to wonderif my warranty is going to run out before the problem occurs. I also don't think I should have to wonder if I should trade in my '06 H3 for a '07 H3 to avoid running into a problem. I put a substantial amount of money down on my Hummer and I'm not going to be able to recoup that down payment. They should do something to remedy this problem!

Im not giving you a hard time or anything, I'm just curious what confidential reasons you have. We can block out all personal information. For example only: A lawyer would want to see that an actual letter does exist. That someone actually did get an extended warranty. This is whyI beleive this is a rumor and some lies. Not you, heh. Im just saying your basically the only one in existance who has received confirmation in print. This is why Isay lies and GM isn't handing out warranty. I respect you confidentiality.Thank you for all your help in the past! And if you could give us a little piece of this letter it would be great help. If not we understand. Keep up the good work!

Sarah's one of the most honest people on this forum. If she says she has a letter then by gosh she has it! She doesn't have to post it to prove it...at least not to me.

Well GM DM..There you have it...Unless GM does something FAIRabout this issue for ALL people that fall in thatVIN range that is affected, was affected and soon to be affected..I got a feeling GM will be losing a thousand costumers just from this forum alone..Not to mention the other several dozen thousand word of mouth pass alongs....GM, can you afford to lose these manypeople???
