I bought my 06 SUT about 2 weeks ago. I've modified the retainers on the grille, the little black filler UNDER the grille, and the cowl cover. I'm 100% sure that all these rattles/squeaks are FIXED. However, I still get a chirping noise like to crickets screwing coming from the area somewhere beyond the windshield.

beyond the windshield ? inside or outside. if outside try to remove both snorkel covers-the square covers on both sides of the cowl they can make noise at times. inside have someone push on the dash pad allover until you stop the noise. i hope this helped. the problem about noise, is it can travel from any were and so hard to pin point at times....

 

Outside the windshield. The guy I bought it from is VERY hard of hearing, but it sounds like a high pitch squeaking noise. I did some modifications on the cowl, the grill, and the lower grill and got rid of all but ONE. Can't find it. I've driven it with the little side covers off and the noise is still there. I've also replaced the rubber strip the hood rests on at the firewall. I would almost pay any amount of money for this freaking noise to go away.
