Quick question, does your loaner have the revised pcm parameters? Will I see a difference with it?
Thanks,
Jim
Alvin and Kelly: Welcome to our forum!
I am definitely going to go with you guys, but not for at least 2 months (closing on a house soon and my money is all tied up), BUT, I do have a few questions for you
1. I have a 5-speed manual transmission. Is that going to affect anything? Do you have a specific tune for manual AND automatic trannies, or just automatic (I don't even know if that is really going to matter to be honest!)
2. On the Colorado, besides getting low to mid power gains, how does it specifically affect the gas mileage on the I5 engine? I know you mentioned on the trailblazer you saw a 2 to 3 mpg increase. Has the Colorado had any decrease or increase in MPGs after your reprogram?
3. Do you tune the PCM specifically for what mods you have, i.e. CAI, high performance exhaust system, etc, or do you tune the PCM assuming that you are only tuning a stock H3 with an automatic transmission?
Just so you know, many of us on this forum have been waiting a VERY long time for someone like you guys/gals to come along and give us the answer to our prayers when it comes to tuning the PCM. I for one and very grateful for it, finally, but now I have to wait a couple of months and it's going to make me cringe every time I see how great everybody's performance is after it's been done
You are being subjected to so many questions because there are so many people on here wanting to do this for the longest time. We are just excited/happy/skeptical/(fill in blank) all at the same time, so please don't take our comments in a bad way.
Anyway, if you can answer those questions, I (and probably some others on the site) would be very grateful. Thanks again! I look forward to doing this. Finally, I'll have a tweak that isn't Home-Made, right Dennis?

Gas mileage & colorados - they seem to be getting the same increase I saw in my trailblazer, roughly 2-3 mpg. I can't guarantee gas mileage because I don't know who is flooring it at every stop light, but I will tell you this, you certainly don't stand to lose any gas mileage from this tune. I think 2-3mpg is a safe estimate for the colorados, trailblazers, as well as H3's.
Thanks for your questions!
Awsome. Thanks for your response. I'm sure most of us would get it done more for the power then the mileage increase, but that definately is a plus. I'll let you know when I'm ready to do it. I may try to do it in the next few weeks.
Great!
I just got this email today. This guy stopped by last week for a tune on his way to Atlanta.
"Hey Alvin, Just back from Atlanta, thanks for the mods to the computer, top end pull is great now, even in the mountians 06' Hummer H3 WIth Air-Raid air box, Air-raid throttle spacer and Magna-Flow exhaust,. Great driveability all around, much more snap and crisp throttle, 2-3 MPG more now, keep up the good work, great job!!! Thanks...
Thank You, Kurt & Pamela *********

Another quick question Kelly: Can you tune my PCM for 93 octane if I only want to use that, and if you can, will that increase performance over the 87 octane tune?

On your home page, you have this:
Trailblazer, Envoy, Colorado and Canyon I5 and I6 tuning now available.
$99 Introductory Special!
We are very pleased to announce support for the I5 and I6 vehicles. Fuel mileage and pedal response are greatly increased with our tuning. We also take careful steps in our transmission tuning which lets us utilize low and passing gears and eliminates the sluggish feeling of the stock settings. We also are seeing on average 2-3 mpg better with our tuning. We even have cores available ($99 refundable charge) so there is no downtime. Contact Alvin@pcmforless.com or call 704-307-4227.
Does this apply to our H3's as well?
