Im not sure yet, i plan on puting it on a scale before installing it. It is kinda heavy, but once i get the weight on it, im going to find a formula that will break down how much weight (how many pounds) are at each "pillar"(atachment point). I dont think that it is the total weight that matters, (to a point),, but how the weight is distributed.

I thought about doing that in the beginning, but i figured that a bigger "foot print" would be better.

I reattached my Gavin wilderness rack using bolts and fender washers in the channel. It worked great and as soon as I sucked up the bolts with an electric impact, they held tight and did not slip when I tightened it. The carriage bolt idea is pretty cool though!

So, are there any engineers here?? LOL.. I cant figure out a formula for determining how much weight is going to be at each "leg". Even though its gonna be heavier than the name brands, im sure that its not going to be too heavy. Now Im just curious.
thanks

how tight do you tighten these to the chanels? I thought that you just might snug them,, but your talking about impact wrenches. I dont want to under do it, but im afraid of over doing it too.
thanks

I just used an electric 3/8" impact wrench with bad batteries and snugged them up. It has not fallen off as of yet. My rack from Garvin is somewhat heavy. It takes two people to install it and it has a working weight of around 300 lbs of gear if I remember right. I know I have stood on it to lift hear on and off and I weigh about 275 lbs.
