Just look at my profile I have lots of pics in there, running either 315/75R16 Nitto Terra Grapplers or BFG KM2s

Here's a shot of DAGKANA's truck on 35's on the left & my truck on 33's on the right. We both have OEM 16" wheels. Both trucks are T-bar cranked to about 23 1/2".

Bunger - thx for the lesson!

Now, one step further (I won't be afraid to ask another dumb question)...will 33x12.50 R16's fit my stock 16" chrome wheel? With no modification?

With them being taller and wider then what I have now (265/75 R16) I assume I should expect to see a decrease in gas mileage, maybe some rubbing on the front at full lock but what about a feeling of even less power (b/c of the weight and size)?

The root of my questions comes from finding a good deal on a set of BFG KM2 MT's.

Thanks again!

The H3 has plenty of clearance for those tires.
The issue is if those tires are too wide for the stock rim width. I'm going off memory here so if I'm wrong, others please correct me.
Stock H3 16" rims are 7.5" wide.
I've seen that 33 x 12.50 tires need to be on 8" to 10" wide rims.
I don't know for sure if mounting them on 7.5" wide rims can be done. The side walls will be bulged out a lot if you did.

If those tires will fit on the rims, you WILL get some rubbing on the swaybar at full lock. Those tires will stick out past your fender and throw up more mud, snow etc. than the 285's or 305's would. But you get that with the 265's now.

If the tires are a LOT heavier you may experience less power but mostly only when going up a long hill. My truck is fine on 33's powerwise. A lot of guys run 35's with no problems, and they are much heavier.

And don't forget, you need 5 new tires. The spare must be the same as the road tires. Damage could occur if you run mismatched tires.

And before anyone asks, YES a 35" tire WILL fit on the spare bracket and clear the rear bumper.

First off: YES, a 33x12.50R16 will fit on your stock 16" H3 rim, they are essentially a 305/75R16.

Second: BFG has no KM2 in a 33x12.50R16? They would have to be either 305/70R16s (approx 12.2" wide) or 285/75R16s (approx 11.3" wide) or not KM2s. Both will fit on your stock 16" H3 rim.

Personally, I would choose the wider 305s. Same height 33.1" but an inch wider. BFG KM2s are good tires form what I have heard from others.

Hope this helps!

Default no go in sno

i dont have confidence in snow. im ok on sno roads but not in 6 inches. fat tires seem like sno boards, slide, dont steer, and especially slide sideways down a slope.

last yr in 07 with goodyr 265 i got too close to the slope in my back yard and struggled to move far enuf to avoid brush and trees. then ,a dummy, i got a run and it got worse. as i tried,i got closer to trees and parked for the nite and dug out in morn. i simply could not move without sliding sideways.

this yr in 10 h3 adv im not doing much better in 5-8 in powder. im testing lock modes and r-f/r lockers. i find lockers dont do much and front locked wont steer much at all so i assume if im in sno over grass or weeds i will have trouble.

im really reluctant to try away from home with no help around.

btw,on a rainy trip, nov, i slid sideway briefly on a slo turn and also when braking when i would have felt safe in the 07. i think the lt285 bridgestones are not so sticky as the gdyr 265 which never slipped in 14 mo i drove it,rain sno shine.

just for what its worth,YEARS ago my son had a intl scout with reg, thin tires, not snow. i could drive down a grassy slope with 8-10 inches and BACK UP , i never could stick that thing, noway!!

i cant do that in my hummer. good on road,,not in yard!!

Have you guys mounted the 33's or 35's on the stock spare tire holder without any problems? I am torn between the 2 sizes.

Default 315 or 295

Hi guys, I have a H3 Luxury 2009, I would like to ask you a suggestion. I use to drive the car also highway, not everyday but 2 or 3 per month.

What is the best 315/75 R16 or 295/75 R16 ? Any problems? For the 315 I have to make some changes to the car?

Thanks
