Thinking about a H2
I searched for a while and last saturday I found the one I wanted.
It is a pristine 2003 model with only 50k miles.
It has lots of chrome (maybe too much to my liking but you cannot have it all I guess).
It is pretty much loaded except for navigation but I have a TOmTom for that for those rare occasions.
It has Toyo open country in the size 355/70/17 which are huge.
One tire was shot due to misalignment but I found a replacement one for that.
The vehicle needed to be state inspected so I did at the shop the cardealer wanted me to go to. Today I had the alignment scheduled but due to a worn wheelbearing (an inspection item!!!) it could not be aligned. So I had them install one but the last word with the dealer and inspection company aren't over yet.
Anyway next problem was it still could not be aligned due to the tires coming over the rim (curb damage protection).
So we had to steal some 8 lug wheels from a chevy pickup to do the alignment. (had to pay for double rotation).
Anyway, all is good now (except for the money issue).
Love the truck. Ordered a new hitchmount with upto a 10 inch drop so I can pull my trailers.
Couple of newbie questions:
How easy is it to install a trailer brake? I read about a plug under the dash.
Is it pretty much plug and play? I also read about the plug being used for extra lights (and have to of them on the bull bar).
Switching to 325/70/17 would that make a difference in fuel consumption?.
I know this thing likes gas.
Brakes. How do you like the brakes that are on the truck? Are they adequate and how long do they last? Brand recommendations?
I am used to 13 inch brembos on the VW which weighs 5300 lbs.
How is the AC in the summer? Does it do a good job cooling?
If I wanted to remove some chrome. Can it come off? How hard would that be and how do I do that? Will it damage anything?
Can one buy xenon sets for the front lights?
I am going to sell the realwheel side steps. They are in very good shape just a few flakes came off on the steps. I will make a separate post. There is no rust as far as I can see. I am selling them because they are not my taste.
These cost $1100 new and I will let them go for half incl shipping within the 48. If you live in another country and like to have them you are in luck.
I have an international shipping company so I can ship them with a great discount.
They are almost identical to the ones here with the difference that the word realwheels is stamped on the step itself. Hummer H2: Torpedo Tube Steps
I will replace them with regular tube steps. I will make a separate for sale post for it later with pics.
Any other recommendations?

NICE!!!! I'm a new owner as well, so I'd like some feedback on the questions you asked as well. Hopefully one of the more veteran owners will chime in.

That's a good find.
TIRES: Skinnier tires will likely get you better MPG, but nothing phenomenal; maybe a +1-1.5.
BRAKES: The OEM brakes lasted me just over 100,000 miles. I just had the pads and rotors replaced...I stayed stock. I don't do any heavy towing (just drag my quad here and there on a 5x8) so I didn't even consider going aftermarket. The stockers have always given me plenty of stopping power.
AC: I've never had a problem with the AC...always seems to blow cold. Now, keeping the damn button lights working on the AC controls, that's another thing. I've been through 3 AC control units because the little bulbs burn out...not a big deal, but it just drives me nuts.
CHROME: Looks like a lot of your bling is 'stick on'...just take your time with this stuff. You can typically get it off without damaging the underlying material. It just takes a little patience, a plastic putty knife, and a couple cold beers.

Great looking truck! Welcome to the family! Beware of the haters! I've had grease, eggs and even people writing things with lipstick on my truck. They are really getting out of hand. Has anyone else had problems with these idiots? I see sometimes they sneak into our sites to say some stupid stuff, but I think its getting worse!!!
