Need some guidance here. Was driving last night and had a complete loss of antifreeze while on the highway. Water pump is dry, hises all look good, dry inside interior so I don't think its the heater core. Top of engine toward the back (firewall) was soaked. Any ideas? Was told maybe a freeze plug popped or the water neck is bad.

H2, new engine with @ 8,000 miles. New radiator with @ 1500 miles.

 

Mechanic tells me the heater hose from the heater core to the water pump burst. Also replacing the outlet fitting. Anything else I should check?

 

Did they replace the hoses when the new engine was installed? If not I would replace them all. That should be all you need.
