Nope. The "sticker" as shown on ebay is made up by the dealer. Add up the parts to equip the Alpha like that one is shown and you get above $46k pretty quick.

And there is a note on the auction that the price includes a $3k rebate already.

Update…

I cannot yet change my user name. We were supposed to go out today. A few things happened. First torrential rain started blasting down and we had a local flood alert until 4:00 pm. Second, I had some important questions. The Chinese company deal is not yet finalized and is not expected until the end of January. My first thoughts were of the SAAB and Saturn deals ending badly and forcing the end to manufacturing.

Is it unusual to have a great dealership to work with? This is one big factor and why we want to buy from them. We called and explained the issues about warranties and the future of the Hummer and GM. We were assured buying the Hummer before the sale ensures that we will have the GM warranty and it will be honored at any dealership and it backed by the government. All parts must be made for at least ten years if the Hummer would be extinct. I am sure I have heard most of this from this forum.

Second apparently parts from the closed plant in South Africa are arriving in the Louisiana plant and they are hopeful that for at least three years the Hummer will be built at that facility. I hope those jobs will be secure for the plant employees.

I am under the impression that if we buy after the deal is finalized than the warranty issue becomes the Chinese company’s liability to offer and not a GM warranty. After the sale the Hummers produced will not be considered a GM product.

You have to admit this is some serious stuff to consider before buying in today’s economic climate.

So by the end of the week…I should be one of you.....

My 2 cents worth: i bought my 09 H3 in march of last year when GM was at its lowest point ever. i wanted the H3 and only asked once about warranty issues. if you ever look in the service dept. of any GM dealer, you will see plenty of Oldsmobiles getting service/warranty work. Oldsmobile has been shut down for at least 2 years. any model built by Gm with a curent warranty will always be honored. my veh. prior to the H3 was a Ford Excursion 2005. Ford stopped building them in 2005. up until 2009 when i got rid of it, the warranty was honored at all ford dealers. i think if you really want an H3, I would Run, not Walk to the dealer and grab one before inventory dwindles.

Thanks Mark.

Okay everyone I am also tired of my user name!!

Hopefully Saturday will be the day. We have not been able to get out of our area because of the rain and now a tornado warning and it is a 50 drive on Los Angeles freeways which can take about an hour and a half with traffic.

I promise to change the user name when I drive it home.

I am feeling much more relaxed about this decision and so glad I found this site. I am sure to have many questions.

Okay here is the story....

So we go out to the Hummer dealership last Saturday. Had cash in hand and pink slip for the trade-in. We were ready to purchase it.

I wanted to retest drive it on the freeway to make sure about the power of the V-8 engine while changing lanes ect. We drove about 8 miles and went back to the dealer.

When I got out I noticed a hot oil smell. Guy said it was because it was new and not driven. I don't like the smell of hot oil from a brand new car.
I was so bummed. Guy said they would drive it more and we could come back again. I really wanted to drive it home that day.

So any ideas about this very hot oil smell?

Then we drove to another dealer about 45 miles from the first one. They had a few new Birch White 2010 Alpha. But, we waited and waited for someone to come out and help us. No one came out and when we went inside they were all busy sitting around doing nothing. So we left.

The one hot item I love is the sun roof and I was just reading about all the leaking issues and now I am getting scared 2 Buy again. Does everyone with a sunroof have leaking issues?

Still want to buy. So any ideas on the hot oil smell after driving for a few miles would be welcomed.

Very disappointed...

Also if we still buy this Hummer I would like to have them put on the 33" tires. Is this a big deal to do? I like the look of the larger tires and I have this hearing disorder that is affected by road noise so larger tires seem to take some of that away. I noticed a big difference when we put larger Michellin (sp) tires on my Mercedes.

I have had zero sunroof problems with the 2 H2's. Email the dealer that you spotted the white Alpha at and schedule a test drive. I bet they would be happy to help you.
