And...........the 'not worth mentioning' V8 ENGINE!!!

Ditto. Since I previously owned both the 3.5L and 3.7L versions, I can say without a doubt that there is a significant difference between the I5 and V8 versions. Unfortunately, unless you get lucky and find a Championship Edition (), you can't get an '09 or '10 Alpha without a ton of extras that make it pretty high dollar.

And, to avoid the inevitable (and uninvited) gas mileage discussion, my V8 only gets 1 mpg worse than the I5. A worthwhile trade-off.

Default Do or Don't day

Okay..... Monday we are going to the dealership. So it is do or don't day. I posted this on the second page about the price:

The out the door price is 45k

The taxes are 4387.00
The DMV fees 640.00

So the actual cost of the 2010 Alpha is $39,973 before taxes and license.

It is the Berch White and the chrome running boards are included and the gas tank cover and the spare wheel cover.

The MSRP was around 47k.

A part of me is very excited about purchasing this Hummer. I know as someone wrote all the worries will go out the window when I am driving it home.

All new cars sometimes have problems of some sort because of the computerization that isn't in my 1991 Mercedes 560 SEL. My car does not have any fancy stuff that today's vehicles have and my husband's Cadillac is a 1994 and always has the computer issues popping up on his dash board.

I could also wait. Maybe find a 09 like some have suggested.

Well, any last words for me before tomorrow?

Thanks again for all the input here.

If you like black, make a low ball offer on this one....ie 35-37k or call the dealer direct to see if he can deal.

Hum very interesting. Thank you.

I have never done the e-bay thing but could call the number and low ball a price. Actually, the dealer for the one we found said he would match any lower offer....

I really wanted the white as my current car for the past 12 years is black.

But saving a few thousand is a good thing....

Call 'em and tell them it is "slightly used" with 125 miles on it thus it is "used".....offer about 35k-37k. On '10's..I asked my dealer and they came back with about 4 grand in discounts with the GM discount included.

That's about the same amount of discount the dealer is offering her on the white one (47k sticker, $39+k price). The black one on ebay probably stickers at pretty close to that, so offering $35k-37k is really low balling. With production scheduled to halt on Tuesday, I can't see anyone dropping the price that much on a 2010.

The white one sounds like a good deal, especially if it is the color you want.

I paid MSRP for my first H3 in 2006 and never regretted it. Just go for it! I'm looking forward to seeing that user name changed.

Sticker says 42K so 37K is about right.
