P0455 evaporative large leak
P0455 evaporative large leak
i recently got the chick Fuel cap message in dash and ignored it but after 5 trips the CEL came on and scanned to see the P0455 evaporative large leak any way i smoke tested the evaporation line and found that the fuel pressure sensor (mounted near fuel pump)was leaking through the silicon rubber connection i changed it (the rubber green silicon)and no other leak found i have a scanner tool but i did not erase the codes and freeze frame records
here comes my question how many engine cycle ups needed to the CEL light go away with out erasing the PC by scanner i just did three cycle and the light CEL did not fade the quistion is will it if the leak is really solved after the change of silicon will the PCM automatically turn off the CEL or i need to erase the code and look for it may come back or no.
