heres a solid way without loosing factory crimp. drill a hole in the factory clamp.cut off excess.
bolt it to solid brass. good for life.
actually the threaded stud was on the factory strap.use a nut to attach, rock solid.

Yes Sir I'm Running Royal purple with a Bosch distance plus filter. I change my oil every 5K miles. I take really good care of my truck, I also run Motul ATF
in my transmission every yearly change. I'm about to flush out my power steering fluid.
What I am trying to figure out is..... when in relation to the start of the oil light issue, did you last change the oil?

In other words, did you change it, and a short while later the oil light showed up? If so, you problem could be as simple as a bad filter.

Good luck.

Wow sorry about that, I changed my oil the weekend after Thanksgiving because I go away the first week of December. The oil light and chime started
New Years week only once I thought it was because of the single digit temps we've had here in New York. It stopped for almost 2 weeks. So it came back on again after the 22nd of the month. On and Off. I changed the cam solenoid and the oil pressure sensor above the filter.

OK, sounds like you took a good stab at other likely causes.

Can I ask if you checked the connectors to the sensors and the wiring to those connectors, see if anything is frayed or rubbing on something? In aging vehicles the wiring or connectors (connections) usually cause more trouble than the sensors themselves.

If you do find the culprit, please let us know.

Search some other threads, it has come up before. When you do, please do not post in those old threads, feel free to link them here if you think it needs it.

Add STP oil treatment if you don't feel like rebuilding your engine. You have a worn bearing in your tired engine, yes it is a band-aid fix but if you are not running hot and hear no noise it can last for "who knows"...over a year here.

Possible, but rare and not likely IMHO. He has 129k on the clock, these motors can do 200k easy, I know of a green 06 with nearly 300.

As I said, there are other threads here and on other Hummer sites that have covered the problem.
