I am coming up to 50000 miles on my H3 and I was wondering if there are any major fluid changes that should occur other than my usual 3-5k oil change. the manual says the under normal driving conditions only thing other than oil I should change is the transfer case oil? and again under normal circumstances that I dont need to change the tranny fluids until 100k. Has everyone been kinda following these guidelines or how has everyone been when it comes to fluid changes?

 

I change all the fluids at 50k, regardless of what the book says. Trans fluid and filter especially. It's relatively cheap and easy maintenance to do.

 

I did the TC & both diff's at 50K, tranny at 65K. Given the cost of our drive train components, it's probably a good investment.

 

I did the T-case, front and rear diffs, brake check, shock check, check tie rods, check upper and lower ball joints, trans fluid and filter. Also went under and checked every bolt under it to make sure they are tight.
