A few months ago I purchased my first H3. It is a 2006 year model and had 19500 miles on it. The previous owner took very good care of it, as it is in pristine condition. I purchased it from a non-Hummer dealer out of town. I'm due for an oil change, and I'll be taking it to my local Hummer dealer. I'm curious if the previous owner had the cracked cylinder head issue fixed before I bought it. Do you think that my Hummer dealer would be able to search the repair history of this vehicle? I would sure like to know what warranty issues, if any, have been performed on it.

 

The dealer will be able to research the VIN and tell you everything that was ever done by a dealer to it..

FYI..the problem with (SOME)early models of the 06 H3 was, soft Exhaust valve seats, not a cracked head.

 

Correct, but many dealers will not release vehicle history for liability issues. The maintanance records can be given from the first owner to the next, but at the end of the day, its previous owners info/records - not the dealers.

Yep, pretty clean. You may want to take it into the dealer for your next service and have them do a once over for any warranty work.

 

I agree. That is the plan in about 300 more miles, when my next oil change is up.
