Default Lift Kit

Has anyone had any luck with ebay lift/level kits like this one...
Rox 2006 2011 Hummer H3 3" Lift Kit with Procomp Shocks | eBay

How about the shocks that are included in this particular kit? Reviews of the shocks on other trucks seemed good. I'm new to the forum and my H3.

some have used them and liked them, but you don't need them. you can adjust the torsion bars without the keys. I run the procomp ES 9000 shocks and like them alot.

Yup, leveling kits for an H3 are a waste of money. You can just adjust the torsion bars.

Here's some light reading.

Ok, I understand. So lift kit or not, you cant go more than 24 inches (or 23.5 to be safe) I wonder if you would have less "settleing" problems with the torsion keys in the lift kit. The kits are cheap and why not lift the back too? Most kits are like 3" front 2" back so its a level/lift kit right? Is 3" safe for the axles in the front?

The "keys" do nothing but waste your money. They just replace the factory keys so you will still have settling to deal with no matter how you raise the front.
Regardless of how much hardware you throw at it, you are not going to get any higher than the 24" max dimension due to half shaft and CV angles.
Adding extended shackles in the rear is going to make it higher in back again, no longer level, defeating the purpose of "leveling".

The only way to go higher is by installing a true lift kit, like Rancho, which run about $2000 to $2500 (parts only) for 4" of lift.

This has been repeatedly discussed on all of the Hummer forums and although using reindexing keys to level a truck's front is normal for a lot of vehicles, for the most part everyone agrees that the leveling key kits don't do anything for an H3.

Ok, so I guess I will either leave it alone or crank on the torsion bars when i have time. So when I do level it myself, could I install the pro comp shocks for instance in the link i posted? Then I wouldn't need the little spacer for the front shocks. I have the stock goodyears on my H3 and my tires are a little cupped. I figured I would rule out shocks, and then get an alignment and balance. Then when the tires finally wear out, I wanna get 35's.

Sure, crank the torsion bars and then get an alignment. The actual torsion bar adjustment takes about 20 minutes to do.

You can get new shocks specifically made for leveled H3's, Procomp, Rancho, Bilstein, etc. all have shocks that are 1" to 1-1/2" longer than OEM. So no need for a spacer.
I have run the Bilstein and the Rancho. I prefer the Bilstein.

Then once you get 35's, you can add a Daystar 1" body lift for more height, like mine.
