Hey everyone. I could use some help. I paid 70$ for the 3 inch Rough Country leveling lift kit. To pay to have someone else install it is like 150$. I wanna do it myself but don't really know how. I have every tool required and an extra set of hands if needed. How hard is installation of this lift and should I just suck it up and cut my losses and have it done for me? Thanks for the help! Search here. You just need a 27mm socket and adjust the front torsions to 23.5" hub center to fender MAX. Then get an alignment. Add Trail Duty bump stops.

You don't need the kit.

 

Take the kit back and do what Telemike just said. No need for the rough Country lift. Your hummer was built so that you can level it without having to buy anything

 

That the great thing about Torsion Bar suspension... Did the same thing with my '03 Avalanche when I got it, and did the same to my '95 Tahoe... I may have to do this to the wifes H3 too... lol

 

A 1/2" drive breaker bar and 27mm socket is all you need to turn the torsion bar bolts. Measure from center of the axle shaft to the wheel well. Do not exceed 24". 23.50" is max for safe CV shaft and steering angles. Stock should be 22.50". No adjustment to the rear needed. Adjust to desired height, drive around and work the suspension. Re-measure and adjust until it settles where you want it. Then get an alignment.

Done what telemike said on 2 different H3s. The fastest and cheapest way to level your truck, takes 30 seconds with a power tool and someone standing with a measuring tape at the wheel.

 

Don't forget to get an alignment a few days after the leveling or you will chew through your tires!

You may have to level it twice once the first "leveling" settles. Then get the alignment.
