Hummers still causing anger
Dam I have H3 -06 bigger tires roof-rack and under armor I get 19 mpg my 98 chevy gets 21 at 75 mph i love my hummer It goes exelent off road i did get it stuck once to the door handles in snow a year ago . To hell with the tree hugers i hope theynever need help
My daughter came home from school telling me how we need to live our lives to "save the planet"...I took the empty milk jug and, while staring at her threw it in the trash. She said, "Don't do that! Thats bad." I informed her, "Honey, I do what I want in my house." and proceeded to explain what propaganda means....and the facts, not THEORY about global warming and the like....

As much as a beautiful sight that it would be, even if every person in the world drove a Hummer, it still wouldn't have an impact on the environment. What's being pushed on people via the news, schools, etc. is BS. Mankind can't possibly effect what happens with the environment, not even if we tried to! That's the thing about it! It's laughable to think that we actually could!
Also, gasoline will never run out.
Lastly, the hate I see and get just shows me how ignorant and arrogant people can be, it relates to the above statement.
Think about it, by driving a Hummer, I personally am responsible for ruining the earth and am contributing to "global warming"? C'Mon! That's the most ridiculous statement anyone could believe! But they do...

I understand why you are sceptical but if your going to try and proove 'enviromentalists' to be ignorant and arrogant with posts like that your really not going to help your case.

It really depends on how you view the enviroment.. would a planet without oil be a different enviroment than the one we have now?
If every one in the world drove a hummer one mile a day we would be using 680000000 gallons of fuel a day - and thats just for cars. This could be cut down more than 75% with some of todays more fuel efficient cars used in the same way. Its hard to visualise how many people are on this planet and the amount of resources they need.
Fuel may not run out for a very long time yet but when demand heavily outstrips supply you may aswell run your hummer on gold bars.
Hummer drivers should love the fact that cars like the prius are coming along. Sure the fart sniffers who drive them are not much fun but they are saving you fuel.
My point is, even if the theory of green house gasses is bull**** are we happy using more of an important finite resource than is nessesary? Drive your hummers now and enjoy that you can but you should at least hope that if hummer continue to make cars they will introduce fuel efficient ones for you to buy. And really you shouldnt continue to buy them if they continue to make no effort. They should have done it with the H3 - if they had they would still be in business.
Its not just hummer - the whole US SUV market needs to stop dragging its heels. 0 - 20 mpg is good for engines developed in the 1980's but we in 2010's now.
Unfortunatly for you guys, the majority of the western world now sees it as a symbol of the US greed for oil and unessary consuption of global resourses.

Im sorry you guys have to bare the brunt of public hysteria fueled by stories of immenent doom - but the movement to more eco cars is a good one.

- Propaganda is awesome because you can use the term to disprove anything that may otherwise look credible. 'thats what they want you to think'
- Theory’s are never considered to be right or wrong, it is up to you to decide. If the implications dont suit you (i.e you gotta get off your **** and sort your trash) then its wrong. If the implications are acceptable (i.e fine to throw trash out the window and let the the wind take it) then its probably right.
- And finally, recycling is bad because its based on propaganda and unacceptable theory.
Well done sir... based on the analysis of your actions I have formulated a theory of my own. Your daughter will grow up to be a great American! But hey its just a theory

Isnt there a PRIUS web site these d bags can hang out on. They can all talk about how great it is to save gas while pumping the breaks and driving through a red light.
I would prefer to save some gas but the prius is a piece of ****. The Geneva car show had tons of hybrid electrics taking centre stage so it wont be long before all new cars make use of electric motors to save on fuel. Including SUVs.
I drive a LandRover Defender 2.5 tdi. It gets around 36mpg (US). Thats a fair bit better than alot of SUVs. Even so, in the near future it could be judged as badly as the hummer has been, get fingers, get scratched - with the way things are going.
I love my defender - its hard to explain the connection to someone who is not a car enthusiast. Its 20 years old already but I would like to keep it for ever. So I hope to make use of the following:
- Responsibly sourced B100 Biofuels (Carbon Neutral)
- Lpg Injection (up to 50mpg on same engine - up to 30% performance increase)
- Goverment supported Carbon Offset Schemes.
- Eco engine conversions?
- After market electric drive train conversions? (possible in 20 years time? maybe).
I don’t want to see old cars pushed off the road because they use banned 'dirty' tech engines or made to expensive to drive either by fuel hikes or massive eco taxes.
The prius is the ugly face of change and hybrid/electric cars will be the standard but the cars will be much better in the future.
Hybrid Electric Lotus ->

Porshe Hybrids ->

Its interesting that they put a hybrid set up in a Porsche Cayenne.. cos lets face it that car is pretty ridiculous. It seems like this is a token effort tho just to save the model from going under like the hummer. Now if Hummer had done this , just thrown in something basic, something that suggested it wanted to go with technology for hybrid/electric - it would still be around.
I hear global warming is a hoax. All this Hummer bashing is getting old and those tree huggers know it. As they roll by in their priuses giving me their politically correct thumbs down. I look down on them and politely give them the politically incorrect finger. lol
