Hummer H3 Recall by GM
anybody know what could be wrong with my 2006 h3? the transmission will sometimes not shift into 4rth until the car is shut of and restarted. It will also get stuck in a gear while hitting bumps on the backroads for instances like 3rd gear and wont shift until restart the vehicle. Car has 151k miles and tranny fluid was changed at 120k
Interesting that the letter says the defect exists in certain "2006" models. Seems odd that Chevy would tailor each letter to the specific owner's year instead of a generic one-size-fits-all letter when the recall affects multiple years. Oh well. Still waiting for my letter (2008 Alpha). Just recently purchased it, but I am registered on GM's owner site, so...

As I said earlier, Chevy doesn't want to redesign the resistor pack (that includes the male connector). So they're likely designing a new female connector/harness that locks onto the resistor better. I'm sure that when they start actually replacing that harness on owner's H3s, they will also replace that resistor pack IF it shows evidence of overheating, otherwise not. That would make the most sense, and be the most cost effective.
