Not my mod. I just had it referenced for myself in case I ever get around to painting mine to black out my truck.

 

You just need to scuff them, then a coat of self etching primer, then paint, and you can add a clearcoat on top if you want....and a red pinstripe!

I did the lip on my car wheels in graphite to match the center, and they are holding up well a few months later, but it doesn't go offroad!

 

I have some paint left from blacking out my grille, steps, roof racks...
I think about painting my wheels with this paint. It is a 2 component acryl paint. The results by now makes me hope that the paint would stay very good on the rims.
