I'm a newbie and sorry if this has been discussed in a prior thread. I have had the "drive you crazy" rattle under acceleration with my 2008 H3. This is not the steering shaft problem that many of you have had.

There is a small skid plate under the transfer case (under the front passenger door) and I found out that if you tap this with your knuckle it will resonate for a good 20 seconds or so almost like a tuning fork. I put some foam backed weather strip in between the skid plate and the cross member and viola, problem solved.

I can't guarantee that this will solve some of your problems but I have driven it for most of the day today and no rattles.

I have a 08 H3 adventure with similar problem. intermittent Rattle at about 3000 rpm. you can feel it from inside the vehicle but nothing from the engine bay.

The skid plate might be a possible source. will check it out this weekend.
