I changed my speakers in my front passenger today, and it seemed pretty straightforward. However, when I put the door panel back together I ran into an issue I can't find the answer to.

The two cables that are used to open/lock the door (Ball and cylinder ends) fit back into their sockets, but there's two issues:

1) the cylinder end (door handle) seems very loose,
2) the ball end (lock) fits in properly, but it won't actually open/close unless done electronically.

I watched a few videos and it all seemed pretty straightforward, but I'm wondering if perhaps I ended up dislodging something that holds those two cables?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Edit - I noticed a rectangular hole in the door frame near the wires, and i'm wondering if there's suppose to be a plastic tab or something to hold them in place, or is it it suppose to be empty?

You could always pull the other side and LOOK.

 

I don't know if there is a plastic tab at that rectangular hole in the door to hold the wires or if the bend in the wires is enough to hold them tight as the cable is actuated. I would pull the other door panel to see what the difference is.
