While I can appreciate the sentiment that recommends that you "get an H2", I think that the H3 is probably a better choice for someone who has always had Jeeps and simply wants a Hummer, instead (unless you want to take the next step, in which case, "get an H2" is probably sound advice). In generic terms, the H3 is just a Jeep, but it's better looking and, IMO, out Jeeps any Jeep you've likely driven - certainly any I've driven.
I personally like the H3 over the H2.
I had the joy of driving a manual when they were first released and beating the **** out of a rental last year.
Conclusions:
A great looking truck. the new H3T is very attractive.
The manual was vague, but that could be cleaned up with some poly bushings. It was what I expected from a truck.
The motor was too weak for the truck. The auto had 4 people in it and I was having a hard time accelerating on the highway. It was very similar to my 6.5tdH1.
I would suggest the V8 if you like to have some power.
