sensor? or motorized vent? air flow is controlled by computerized motors with rotary feeback sensors to tell the computer where it is. can we say overkill!!
some posts show how to fix/change. gotta search. i saw it long ago??

have no clue why it went when it did??

It is the mode actuator that Controls which vents the air comes out of, ACDelco #1573199 or GM#10397102 .

Khaled thanks for the best answer, I have already disconnected the mode actuator, COS THEY ARE MAKING A NOISE ( the white circle in the middle is not turning), and at the same time every thing is working fine even the AC is perfect.

But I have here a question what if i kept these disconnected and note that when ever i turn on the H3 only the clock time reset to 12PM while the channels stayed saved.
any suggestion, I believe once the time will work the mode actuator will stop doing the sound.

you might be able to open up the actuator and check the gear assm to see if its out of place .making noise may mean its past the end of range. the noise must be caused by that but im sure has nothing to do with the clock time. sounds like the volts wire to that got opened. look at wiring for help on clock. the stations are in memory i think. the clock runs on radio volts. is that connector/wiring messed up? sounds like it gets opened up with key off?
i think earlier posts on this showed the actuator insides?? dont know where as i have little luck searching.

The actuators are easy to replace, and pretty cheap (about $25) on Amazon or eBay. I had the noise/clicking issue with mine...tried messing with them, disassembling, did the reset procedure...still nothing. Finally replaced them; haven't had a problem since. BTW, the actuators have absolutely nothing to do with your clock/radio. Check for a blown fuse?
