Acetone in your gas tank
#21
It was a 2000 Yamaha V-Star carbureted, SeaFoam is known to help fuel economy and I said rubber, not plastic. There are multiple rubber o-ring in the fuel injection system. Plus you ever put acetone in a stainless steel pan? Next time your wife soaks off her nails, look what happens to the bowl. And yes I know we are only talking a few ounces but……
I’m just trying to help keep someone from slowly destroying their entire fuel system. Like I said I speak from experience, twenty years mechanic, not back yard type. If you want to spend a buck to save a buck-fifty and later on spend a couple hundred, go ahead.

But that doesn't mean I'll be pouring it in my fuel tank, even if its just a small bottle in an 87 litre tank .
I can't help thinking there is a good reason acetone isn't put into fuel. Why fight wars over oil when the government could reduce the need for it so easily?
