Has anyone put pure 100% acetone in their gas tank? and if you did how much did you actually gain for mpg's?

At $17 a gallon (Home Depot) you'd have to get about 100 miles to the gallon for it to pay off!!

according to what I am finding on the internet about how much to add into your gas tank, it is only 3ounces max. to 10gallons of fuel. and some people are claiming an additional 10miles per gallon gained. Sounds to good to be true

When you said "100% Acetone", I thought you meant completely filling the tank!......had me wondering 'bout you, for a minute there Monster

Sounds way too good to be true. But if you try it, post up your results and let us all know.

I will post the results, right now I am getting a base mpg, and then I am going to try one tank full, get that mpg, and then a second tank full and see what those mpg's are.

Its worth a try I guess.

I can't help thinking that if it were that effective, the petrol companies would be putting it in the fuel already and claiming it as some type of new wonderfuel. Else someone else would be selling it as an additive and new of its efficiency would spread among members of the public within days - yet this article is a few years old.

Similar to those things that are supposed to increase the engine efficiency by putting magnets on the fuel line or similar - if it were that effective the manufacturers would do it already.

Interested to hear the results, but won't hold my breath.
