Exclamation About to buy 1999 H1 but has mechanical issues

Hey I was wondering what everyone else thinks about this.

I am looking at a 1999 Hummer H1 truck hardtop with 147,000km (91,000 miles) Its very clean and has all the records from every service and clean carfax from the day it was built. The owner says he bought it in 2004 and never went off road or any highway speeds with it other then transporting it from where he bought it. They are asking $40,000cnd for it.

I took it for a inspection and it didnt pass.

-No cruise control
-No windshield washer
-Fuel gauge not working correctly
-Front markers and rear brake lights not working
-steering wheel not straight
-LR Hub seal leaking
-RF rear upperarm loose
-idler arm, Pitman arm and left tie rod have play
-Front and rear pads and rotors warn down
-Transmission pan leak
-Exhaust leak at left manifold

I showed him all the problems with the truck and offered $34,000 and he said lowest he will go is $38,000.

Right now in Canada there are 4 black 1999 H1 truck hardtops for sale all with similar millage and same price.

Would you take this offer or try for a lower price? ...or just not even bother and move on and wait for another one to come by?

Look around , dont be in a hurry and the right deal will come along.
I too looked at the H1 and some people arent reasonable.
Keep looking.. the right one will come along. 33k is all that one is worth.

yes, keep waiting. the right one will come around eventually, even if you have to travel a little further to get it. you'll just know its the right one when it happens.... i researched the H1 and the H3 just under a year before i found the one i really liked and for a good price. turned out to be the H3 for me. just know that with the H1's, they tend to be mechanical headaches unless you enjoy working on them. also, if you go that route, stick with the 6.5-liter V8 engine diesel or turbodiesel although i think by '99 they phased out the gasoline engine.
