Hey, I just purchased a 2003 H2, owned it for an hour, stopped for gas, started it up and the check engine light came on. It has 83K miles on it and and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I was thinking (hoping) maybe Hummer requires an 85K check-up and the check engine light comes on automatically when it gets close?

 

you probably didnt screw the gas cap on tight/correctly. Women have this problem frequently

 

i have had the gas cap loose on my H2 light came on. It should go off after a certain number of key turning off and on.

i had a problem with mine and the actual gas cap wasn't venting like it was supposed to, put a new one on and all was well.

 

yep the gas cap thing is strange to me, but I have had the issue as well. Good thing all you have to do is tighten down. such an easy thing.
