Hey guys. Needing some help here. Just had my engine rebuilt, but ended up scrapping my 08 3.7 block and was able to find an 07 3.7 block to pair with my 08 head. Issue arose when we reinstalled it and fired her up. Runs perfect for a few minutes until the oil heats up and then it throws a timing code and runs terrible. Sputters almost like it’s going to die, doesn’t, and will do the same thing even when driving down the road. My mechanic has checked the timing, cam phaser, crankshaft/harmonic balancer bolt torque, and the VVT actuator. Nothing seams to help. Hell we even tried a heavier oil. Still does it. I’m at my wits end. Our next step is to get a new cylinder head and see if that helps at all.
