Default 2006 New Engine Programming Question

My 2006 was at 186K when the engine started to have problems. I previously had added an Airaide Filter and also had the exhaust modified. I am now waiting to get her back from surgery with a brand new engine (same specs) but with the heads ported.

I plan to replace all the suspension parts and bushing and add a high pressure power steering pump.

My question is, do I need to have the new engine with the mods I made reprogrammed or i this something I just wait and see how she is preforming.

Okay, I am old school. 70's muscle cars and all that. Then there were kids and a real job and next thing you know I have no idea what I am looking at under the hood.

Any othr suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Give blackbear performance a call. Justin there was extremely helpful with my h2.
After laying out all that cash for a new engine, would be a shame not to extract the performance from it no ?

I agree with baldfox, you should get some custom tuning to help gain the extra hp from the new VE.

Did you go with a different camshaft?

That would make the biggest difference.

Thanks for the advice. They are going to be in Dalls next month which gives me time to get the new Corsa exhaust installed.

Have not given much thought to a cam. I can't put my head around it as to the benefits. I like to drive the truck in normal traffic as well as off road when hunting or fishing. I don't really play off road any more. My back is too screwed up from off shore stuff. Still, there is nothing like shooting varmits at night while on the fly.
