Yea, I dont mind listening with the windows down, but when you have the doors open and the speakers are exposed outward you get a much better sound..

you'd think the 5 door switches would go thru one wire to the bcm,
not so. they used 4 feeds so one switch wont do for all.
i cant find the ding wire and thats the one to switch. next time?

Eventually I'll cut one of the 2 wires going to this switch, wire a single pole, single throw toggle switch in series, mount it under the dash, and be good to go.
This seems most logical as long as it does not throw the message center.?.?.?

Unless they made a change (which I doubt) to the '10's, the driver door is the only one that activates the chime when the key is in the ignition. That is the only switch you need to worry about when you wire in a toggle.

Not possible. The BCM might be smart, but not smart enough to know at what point along the length of the feed wire that there has been a cut and splice of a second switch.

I have an 06 H3 that has no "ding, ding" for the doors open, key in , or seatbelt warning, and the onstar or phone automated voice sounds muffled the new sound is a high pitched noise it makes no difference running or not and when i turn on the radio the noise is still there. Im thinking its the warning system that is "fried" in some way and ive been trying to see if anyone knows how to disconnect or disable this in any way, I even tried a new head unit but the noise remains and thats what leads me to believe it's the warning system. I would also like to add that this all started about the same time my battery got low one night after listening to the radio and had gotten a jump start. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. 2006 H3 driverjim1970.jj g mail
