I have a 2005 H2 automatic, the owners manual gives a choice of having the doors lock in gear or with speed. Can you disable that? I never want my doors to lock unless I lock them. The manual talks about it being possible but it seems to be only for the manual trans truck? Anybody know how to disable this annoying feature?

Yes it is in the DICbut it only offers 2 choices, in gear and with speed. The factory manual has "take no action" as a choiceand it has the codes to get there, but it doesn't work. I guess the 2005 can't do this. If anyone knows more I'm interested.

 

There is a way to disable the automatic door lock feature without using the DIC. You use the turn signal lever and the key. Because I have the manual on my computer I will have to write the information down first then come back to Hummer Forum to type it in.It gives you about 30 seconds to program the new setting or it resets to the default. When I get a chance tonight I will enter the procedure here.

Here it is. Remember you want MODE 3. First- Ignition off-Pull turn signal lever toward you &hold it there while you perform the next step. Turn key to run than back to lock twice. Then with key in Lock release turn signal lever.The doors will now lock & unlock. Horn will chirp twice and 30 second timer will begin. You are now ready to program the locks. Press the lock side of the power door lock switch once. You will hear 1,2,or 3 chimes.The # of chimes tells you which mode is currently selected. Continue to press the door lock switch untill # of chimes is Three which is NO AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKING. If you take longer then 30 seconds you will have to start at the beginning. Turn key to RUN to exit programming. Hope this works.

You are right. Thats what the shop manual says to do. Unfortunately it does not give a third chirp. I don't think the 2005 H2 supports this. Books have been wrong before. Oh well. Thanks for all the help.
