The auto door lock system is driving us crazy - especially for short, in town trips. The dealer says they can't be disabled totally (what engineers would design this ). Just that you can switch between 3 modes, all of which auto lock/unlock the doors.

I'd like to kill the system entirely (without voiding warranty).

Ideas anyone? Buehler?

I am not sure what the problem would be if you have them set to unlock when you put the truck into park, even on short trips???

 

I hate that auto locking on my 06 h2. I would love to disable that. My 03 didn't do that.

 

what's wrong with depressing the unlock button to let someone out? yes you have to learn a new process but I started doing that and it's not a big deal

 

My H2 has the option you can turn on and off by cycling thru the gauge cluster info. You can set it a few diff ways.

 

What year do you have? I think my 03 could do that but not the 06

 

From what ive read on this forum about many other people asking this. yes you can. go to the dealer, have it reprogrammed. simple.

 

I started this thread after visting my dealer to disable the auto door locks, who told me it couldn't be done. I am hoping someone has figured out an easy or undocumented way to do it w/o interfering with any other systems. So far no luck. :O

 

I talked to my dealer today and he said it cant be done. What a bummer!
