Holy crap oceanbrave,
It looks like your hummer puked up its guts

Yeah. I understand where the OP is coming from. But from what I know, the rear controls arent worth the hassle time and energy. Now I am sure he is either 1) a dad going I have to have something in the rear to keep the kids quiet, or 2) he just wants to keep the rig as functioning like OEM as possible.

I have seen some hard core off roaders replace the rear controls with headphone/mic setups.

But i digress because that is not the original question, I would say trying looking into Caddie Escalades of the same model or year production. I think they have the same entertainment system that we have. Of course, will it be an upgrade... no. I dont think they have the extras you are wanting.

Personally I think if it is for #1, just do the stereo for your truck and then get them a dvd player or mp3/internet radio player for the back. It would be much simplier to wire up and probably cost lots less.

(if its for #2, I think you are going to have to a new head unit from the current setups, modify your dash to fit them, and then wire the living crap out of your truck.)

I put in a Kenwood with Garmin GPS several years ago and couldn't have been any happier with the upgrade. The OEM GPS was crap and so was the radio. USB input, BT and DVD with a 11" screen in the back. One of the best upgrades for the interior I have made to date.

Your right jsbihn, it was a mess but kind of worth it in the end.

Could have taken it to a Shop but here in the UK they're too expensive and inexperienced with Hummers.

So I fitted a Pioneer AVIC-F77DAB myself and saved $600, check out the specs!

Android Auto is the way to go, Google's speech recognition is amazing, even works when the wife is talking, not sure how it manages that!

Only thing I'm missing is an OFF button, the units always ON - must talk to Pioneer about that

Oh and it doesn't make the tea! (after all I am English)

Yep the wife.

AVIC-F77DAB is for Europe, AVIC-8200NEX is probably the nearest US equivalent.
