Keyfob
Mine are the originals, but weird that they both stopped working at the same time and not sure why they would need reprogrammed. Just wondered what all of you thought. There is a GM dealer not too far away so maybe I'll just stop by there sometime.
There should be no need to reprogram the original fobs as it doesn't 'wear off' or anything of that sort. However, they may need to be replaced and the new fobs would need to be reprogrammed. If you've already changed the batteries, you might try to give the circuit board a gentle cleaning with ispropyl alcohol to remove any debris or residue which inevitably accumulates over time. If they still don't work you may need to try a replacement. There are plenty of sites selling replacement fobs but it is important to buy from a knowledgeable seller. You'll need to get a fob with the correct FCC ID and chipset for your VIN.
man i got a set of 2 for 19.99 on of amazon 5 years ago the only thing that happened really fast was that the lock symbol fade it away but they both work really good . my guess is it depends what vendor you got them from . here is the link for a set of 2 https://amzn.to/2ZBF6he
It would be helpful to know what Hummer you are asking questions about. This should be asked in the vehicle specific section.... if it is an H3, it goes in the H3 section. Crazy how that works.
