Default Wipers not working, cruise not working,Washer fluid pump not working ?

Hello everyone was trying to get the wipers working a newly purchased 06 h3 and I replaced all 3 relays today the old ones were corroded so I figured they were bad and still nothing. So i took out the wiper motor and put 12 volts on it and it works.I put it all back together and then I thought maybe I’ll put one of the old relays back in the on/off relay port I believe 72 and the wipers turned on.There was no key in the ignitions and wiper control was off. Then I took that relay back out and put the new one back in and turned the ignition and nothing.Do you think that old relay was bad and powered the wiper motor up?I am thinking it is the turn signal switch assembly now because the cruise dosent work and the windshield washer pump dosent and the cruise control dosent work any other thought would be appreciated.

Which 3 relays did you replace? 72, 73, 88?

Check Fuse 35 for Cruise Control. Power from there goes to the switch and then to the ECM.

Wiper motor and washer pump are on a different circuit and are controlled through the BCM. Check fuses 9 and 6. It looks like wiper motor control bypasses the BCM when the wipers are set to high, but the signal runs through the BCM in low/Intermittent. So, try setting the wipers to high and see if that changes anything - this will help you isolate the problem to the BCM or something upstream/downstream of it. Sun roof leaks tend to let water get into the BCM and its connectors so check those connectors for corrosion. Spray CRC contact cleaner in them when you have it apart. Remove the battery negative before disconnecting the BCM since it always has power and you don't want to spray CRC into a powered connection.

Do you have any other seemingly unrelated electrical problems?

Yes those are the relays I put new ones in.I also checked the fuses you mentioned and all look good. Also the traction control is lit up and abs faults but I haven’t got that far yet to check any of those.Do you think it might all be BCM related?

Do you have a sunroof? If so, has the passenger side carpet ever been wet?

No sunroof and I wouldn’t know if the carpet has ever been wet it does have 170k on it so it could have been wet at one time.

Doc's referring to water damage/corrosion at the BCM due to sunroof leaks. Worth checking.

Traction/ABS is another unrelated system to the first two issues. Multiple unrelated electrical problems on these rigs can be caused by a bad battery and battery terminals. If you still have the OE battery terminals it's very common practice to replace those with a quality after market replacement (I am very happy with the ones from Knukonceptz, other folks like Stinger). Check the battery condition also, put it on charge, make sure its healthy.

I've seen some people have electrical issues due to corrosion in the wiring boards in the fuse box. I guess that's a bit of a bear to get in and out properly without creating new issues, so would rule out everything else before going to that step.

Yes it does have the oem battery cables so I will replace those it does have a new battery I just purchased. Also I know there is corrosion in the fuse block because the relays I pulled out were all corroded on the terminals that is why I replace them.I used contact cleaner to clean inside the terminals for the relays I changed out.I think I will go thru and pull all fuses and relays and spray contact cleaner to clean them and then go from there.Thank you for the replies and I will keep everyone posted as to what is happening with it.Im sure I’ll have more questions to ask.

Well I changed the turn signal assembly and still nothing. The bcm terminals looked clean. The fuse block looks pretty bad I am wondering if that is the problem now?

R&R your fuse box. Corrosion can get in between the layers and wreak havoc.
