Its the crank case ventilation hose. Just below this pipe in your picture inside the engine is a type of pvc valve that is supposed to clear vent gasses from the crank case. 9 times out of ten this gets blocked with oil sludge and it sprays out this plastic Tube into the air box. Bad. So to fix it and clear the blocked sludge. Remove the rubber hose and use a air compressor and blast air down that hose hole to clear the sludge. Make sure that your oil tip stick is pulled out slightly so the engine is no pressurized and that should fix your issues. All Hummer owners need to do this. A blocked pvc internal valve can destroy an engine because it over pressurizes it. Cheers from UK

no you’re gonna want to order the exact hose, those special bends are very important!! The sludge is just condensation that mixed with oil, it will burn off while driving.
